Metal gear solid v review metacritic series#
Unfortunately, this latest part of the series only excels in the technical and mechanical aspects. The Metal Gear series has always excelled in combining great stealth action game play and state-of-the art graphics with a complex, enthralling storyline featuring fascinating characters. There are plenty of missions and side-ops to do and the customisation options in this game are varied. But the game plays so good and is a lot of fun to play. The world of the phantom pain may feel a little bare bones, especially compared to titles like the Witcher 3. Sneaking and crawling around the open world whilst trying to avoid detection from guards felt tense and rewarding if things went to plan. In fact, I didn't care much for the plot of Phantom Pain and yet I continued to play it because of its excellent gameplay. Sneaking and crawling around the open world whilst trying to avoid detection from guards felt tense and In terms of story, I had no idea what was going on.
